कानपुर: पहले से ही अनुमान जताया जा रहा था कि विकास दूबे को अदालत नहीं पहुँचने दिया जाएगा और रास्ते में ही उसका एनकाउंटर कर दिया जाएगा। लोगों का अनुमान सच साबित हुए और यूपी पुलिस ने विकास दूबे का एनकाउंटर का दिया।
फरीदाबाद से पकडे गए विकास दूबे के साथी प्रभात मिश्रा का भी इसी प्रकार से कानपुर में एनकाउंटर हुआ था, फरीदाबाद पुलिस ने प्रभात मिश्रा को यूपी पुलिस को ट्रांजिट रिमांड पर भेजा था लेकिन पनकी के पास पुलिस की गाड़ी खराब हुई, उसके बाद प्रभात मिश्रा ने पुलिसकर्मी की पिस्टल छीनकर भागने की कोशिश की और पुलिस ने उसका एनकाउंटर कर दिया।
इसी तर्ज पर आज विकास दूबे का भी एनकाउंटर कर दिया गया. कानपुर पहुँचते ही पुलिस की गाडी पलट गयी, उसके बाद विकास दूबे ने एक पुलिसकर्मी की पिस्टल छीनकर भागने की कोशिश की, कथित तौर पर उसने पुलिसकर्मियों पर फायरिंग भी की उसके बाद पुलिस ने उसका एनकाउंटर कर दिया।
पुलिस के अनुसार इस एनकाउंटर में चार पुलिसकर्मी भी घायल हुए हैं। कानपुर के एसएसपी दिनेश कुमार ने एनकाउंटर की पुष्टि की है।
एसएसपी दिनेश कुमार का कहना है कि गाड़ी पलटने के बाद विकास दुबे पुलिसवालों का हथियार छीनकर भाग निकला। उसे सरेंडर करने का मौका दिया गया था, लेकिन विकास दुबे ने फायरिंग शुरू कर दी। जवाबी फायरिंग में उसे गोली लगी और उसकी मौत हो गई है। ये घटना कानपुर से 15 किलोमीटर पहले की है।
गौरतलब है की कल उज्जैन पुलिस ने विकास दुबे को महाकाल मंदिर से गिरफ्तार किया था। आठ घंटे पूछताछ करने के बाद यूपी एसटीएफ के हत्थें सौंप दिया। विकास दूबे पर कानपुर में आठ पुलिसकर्मियों की ह्त्या का आरोप था।
